The Alumni College is a week-long experience in late summer for all people interested in the geology, history, scenery, astronomy, and life of southwestern Montana. The program is conducted at Indiana University's Geologic Field Station, and is led by experienced and popular instructors. Day trips focus on various aspects of the region, and are entertainingly designed for interested laymen. The program includes the option of an overnight camp-out at Lost Cabin Lake in the Tobacco Root Mountains, or an excursion to Yellowstone.
Excellent meals and rustic lodging are included in the cost of the Alumni College. You need not be an alumnus of Indiana University or the geology Field Station to attend, and you certainly don't need to be a geologist! A maximum of about 25 participants ensures personal attention and excellent camaraderie, and a minimum of 10 people is required. Estimated cost for the week, including all expenses in Montana, is $1000 per person.
